We will start celebrating in the festive Moscow. The Russian capital is considered to be among world's best Christmas markets. All shiny and decorated, it will create the best holiday mood. In this very mood, we will travel far away from Moscow, to the snowy fairy tale of Altai. Surrounded by its beautiful nature, you will have the most unforgettable Christmas!

There is everything for the great winter party: fabulous mountains called the “Russian Alps”, a warm wooden house in a pine forest, the Milky Way over your head, a Russian banya (sauna) and swimming in the ice-hole, a walk through to the frozen Lake Teletskoye (UNESCO object), dog sledding, cooking classes of national cuisine and other 1001 memories for a lifetime. All this surrounded by sparkling snow. Lots of snow.

Tour program

Arrival in Moscow. Transfer to the hotel, check-in. Sightseeing Tour around the city: the guide will take you to the Kremlin and St. Basil's Cathedral, which are more amazing than ever during this period! Program includes: sightseeing tour, tasting of dishes of national Russian cuisine, holiday folk festivals and a lot of impressions.

We will start our second day in the capital with a walk around its festive streets and go shopping to the New Year’s Fair right near the Red square. We will try traditional Russian cuisine, like blini and caviar.

They you will have some free time to see one of the numerous museums of your choice or just have a walk on your own.

In the evening: transfer to the airport, departure for Altai.

Arrival in Barnaul and transfer to the Altai Mountains along Chuya Highway, which is included into the Top-10 most beautiful roads of the world according to the National Geographic. Today you will see the Katun River for the first time and walk through the winter cedar taiga. We will stya in cozy chalets in the middle of a pine forest on the bank of the Katun. They say that for a city dweller every day in Altai equals to a week of rest. You will have a chance to check this statement.
Today we will see the natural wonder, the “Blue Eyes of the Katun”. Those are the crystal lakes. They appear in early autumn, when the level of Katun. Water leaves the channel, while remaining in fairly deep crevices. The most striking thing about these lakes is their color and purity. The water here is completely clear and bright turquoise. Today we will also dive right into the traditions of the Altai. You can take part in exciting master classes on working with wool and clay. You may also make your own doll in a folk costume as a gift for your friends or relatives. After lunch there will be a culinary master-class to prepare for a Christmas party. For competitive tourists, we will organize a “culinary battle” of different national cuisines. You will be able to realize all your culinary ideas, as the products will be prepared in advance. A cozy Christmas evening with live music promises to stay in your memories for a long time.

Firstly, we will visit the Gorge of Mountain Spirits, which is an amazing place of power. It is so narrow, that the falling lights create an illusion of a fairy tale. There we will go to another natural wonder – Patmos Island on the Katun River. It is closely connected with Orthodox Culture, a female monastery is located there. There is an atmosphere of peace and tranquility.

We will spend the evening by the fire, drinking wine and eating barbecue, which will give us some rest after this busy day.

We will start with the unique craftsmen village called Askat. It is visited annually by many art lovers, since famous Russian masters and artists live and work here all year around. A walk through the cedar forest to the frozen waterfall will become a lifetime experience. But, this is not it. We will also see the Teletskoye Lake, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The mountains around make the lake even more picturesque.

Our plan for this day is to see find a silver source right in the middle of the cedar forest. We will also go dog sledding. Cheerful and strong Siberian Huskies, sparkling snow will make unforgettable impressions and photos.

Speaking of other possible activities – you can take a ride on the tubing from a hill or go skiing on the local ski slope.

After an active snowy day, a real Russian Banya (sauna) will be exactly what you need for your body and spirit.

We will enjoy the beauty of the Teletskoye Lake again, but from another side – from the ice itself. Riding snowmobiles on the icy surface of the lake, we will get to the stone bay – the place of the meteorite crash. Then we will have an ethnographic excursion, which includes national dishes degustation. Transfer to Gorno-Altaisk. Free time to visit the National Museum. The main “celebrity” of the museum is “Altai Princess”, a real archaeological sensation of the last century. Dinner in the best restaurant of the national Altai cuisine.
