Moto tour from Moscow to the North of Russia (including Saint-Petersburg, Karelia, Yaroslavl and Vologda) includes a whole range of typical Russian activities: traditional dishes, banya, BBQ, and sightseing in cultural gems of the country. However, it is a pure riding mototour, we will enjoy road itself more than stops. On our way there will be cozy towns as well as megapolises as Moscow and Saint Petersburg, highways and contryside roads. We will also see marvellous views of Ladoga and Onega Lakes during boat trips.
Duration – 14 days (9 riding days + 3 rest days + 2 days arrival/departure)
More rural roads, countryside views and small towns on our way. Our destination is Novgorod. Being 1155 years old it is considered to be one of the oldest cities in Russia. We will see the Kremlin and spend the evening in one of the restaurants on the Volkhov river.
Saint-Petersburg, also known as Nothern Venice is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Magnificent palaces, churches and cathedrals, cozy streets and narrow channels, Neva river and Baltic Sea. We will go sightseeing as soon as we arrive. Visiting Vodka Museum is planned in the evening.
Heading to the North we will reach Karelia to spend a night in Sortavala on the Ladoga Lake. Depending on the weather, we will get to Valaam Monastery by boat and finish the day with Russian banya and traditional meal.
Our next stop is Vitegra, a small town. It is also called a port of five seas, because here lies the Volga-Baltic Waterway - the main waterway of the North-West Russia. We will end this day with Russian-style BBQ.
