Murmansk has the status of the largest city in the Arctic Circle. Most of all, it is known for its location and non-freezing seaport.

The main city attractions are monuments related to military history and navigation, and the icebreaker museum Lenin. But most tourists come here to see the local nature and the Northern lights.

The polar night here lasts about 40 days, when the sun barely rises above the hills.
