Barguzinsky Reserve
The Barguzinsky Reserve was created on January 11, in 1917. By special order, everything in it was strictly protected from poachers. It is prohibit cutting trees, collecting useful plants and berries.

Due to the closed zones, it was possible to save endangered species of animals. In nature reserves, you can see pristine land with mountain ranges, clean rivers, beautiful lakes. Each reserve protects several species of animals and plants. The Barguzinsky Reserve is located on the territory of Buryatia, adjacent to Lake Baikal on the northeast side. Its area is 374300 hectares, which includes the Baikal waters.

It received its name from the Barguzin River. The beautiful landscape, mountain ranges and unforgettable landscape of the valleys create a sense of calm. It was created to restore the number of sable.

In those years, there were only from 20 to 40 animals. The task was completed. Today, 1 sq km accounts for two sables. In the late 80s Barguzinsky was awarded the title of biosphere reserve. On the territory, there is not more than 40 species of mammals and 260 species of birds. Such a small number of the fauna is due to the long winter, high humidity, strong and frosty winds.
