Located next to the Kremlin in Izmailovo, Vernissage is a very vibrant and colorful place.
Here you will find endless stalls with antiques, crafted goods, souvenirs, paintings, books, china, and what not!
The Vernissage is a paradise for those who like things with history. Come on Saturday — on this day, the choice of vintage and antique goods is the widest. You can buy some really rare and interesting things for good prices.
If you are interested in traditional Russian souvenirs such as Gzel porcelain, Zhostovo painted trays, lacquer boxes, Matrioshka dolls, etc., you will find all of them here, too! The goods are brought to Moscow from the ‘Golden Ring’ towns they originated from.
Make sure you visit the ‘alley of paintings’, too. Some of the works are real masterpieces!
Note that the stalls are closing by 4 p.m., so come well in advance as the market is huge and it will take several hours to see everything properly. Besides, since there are other attractions on the territory of the Kremlin nearby, you might want to see them, too.
If you get hungry, you will find a lot of places to eat, including recently opened designer cafes.
Vernissage in Izmailovo is highly recommended to… well, everyone! Whatever you are looking for, you will find it here. Even if you don’t plan to buy anything, you will have an enjoyable experience anyway. Not to mention that the fairy-tale Kremlin buildings alone are really something to look at. And take pictures against!
