"The Not-good apartment" - the mysterious Museum of Mihail Bulgakov
The museum dedicated to the life and work of an outstanding Soviet writer. It is located in the walls of Bulgakov’s home, in that very “Not-good” apartment No. 50.
“The Not-good Apartment” is a relatively young museum established by the Government of Moscow on March 26, 2007.
The name “Not good” was given to the apartment after the release of the book “The Master and Margarita” to the world: the seventh chapter of the work is called “The Not-good Apartment”. According to the plot, it was here, in apartment No. 50, that the novel’s action partially took place - The Satan’s Great Ball.
Exhibits include personal items, objects, manuscripts, photographs, documents, and genuine furniture of playwright. Visitors to the exhibition will learn the story of the creation of the novel “The Master and Margarita”, interesting facts from the life of Mikhail Afanasyevich and get acquainted with the prototypes of the characters of his immortal work.
