The Faceted Chamber is one of the most ancient buildings in Moscow and the Kremlin. Until the times of Peter the Great, it was the main hall of the Kremlin Palace and the main hall of Russia.
It was built at the end of the 15th century under the guidance of Italian architects. According to ancient Russian ideas, this building was a miracle of stone architecture.
The walls of the architectural monument are covered with frescoes. The main eastern facade of the building is faced with white stone blocks, cut into four sides, as a result of which the building got its name.
The Faceted Chamber and the Grand Kremlin Palace can only be visited as part of a guided tour.
