The Pioner Cinema was reopened in October 2009 and quickly became the main place for lovers of real cinema, who demand on image quality, sound and preferring to watch movies in the original language with subtitles.
In the repertoire of the cinema - the main movie hits from arthouse to the current mainstream art and author's blockbusters. Pioner is a cinema without popcorn, which mostly determines its atmosphere.
In Pioner on Kutuzovsky prospect there are 2 rooms, with 84 seats in each. The cinema has the most modern equipment that allows you to watch movies both in 3D projection and from film.
Throughout the year, various film festivals are held in Pioner, as well as weeks of national cinema - French, Israeli, Polish and others.
The Pioner is also the official site of the Moscow International Film Festival and is a member of the CICAE and Europe Cinemas Art House Cinemas Association.
In summer of 2014, Pioneer launched the “Finally to the Cinema” program, in which viewers can see the restored and full directorial versions of the masterpieces of world cinema that have never been released in Russia.
The Pioner network also includes two summer cinemas in Gorky Park and Sokolniki Park. Summer Pioner in Gorky Park is the largest open-air cinema in Russia with a capacity of more than 400 spectators. Summer Pioner in Sokolniki Park is designed for 300 seats.
Pioner summer cinemas are open from May to October and work in any weather.
In the Summer Pioner various festivals, special shows, premieres, and in the daytime - lectures, master classes, concerts, even theatrical performances, and poetry evenings are held.
