The house of Zinaida Pertsova is one of the most beautiful buildings in Moscow, which was given the name The Fairy tale house among the citizens.
In 1905, the famous railroad engineer Peter Pertsov, acquired a corner plot bounded by Prechistenskaya Embankment, Soymonovsky Proezd and Kursovsky Lane. Petr Pertsov rewrote the area, and then the house to his wife, Zinaida Alekseevna.
Pertsov decided to build an entire residential complex, which included apartments and the part in which he intended to live with his family.
To create this project, an outstanding commission of architects and artists was convened, including Franz Shekhtel, Viktor Vasnetsov, Vasily Surikov, Sergey Solovyov, Vasily Polenov, Illarion Ivanov-Shits and other prominent representatives of the Moscow creative intelligentsia. Among the projects submitted to the contest, the works of the artists Vasnetsov and Malyutin were given the most attention.
Thus, in the project of the Pertsov House, the motifs of the tpopular European Gothic and national Russian architecture of the 17th century were united, which became a harmonious whole thanks to the aestheticism.
During the Soviet period, Pertsov’s house was transferred to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, whose diplomatic representation is located here and in our days. Today, the unique “Fairy Tale House” is rightfully considered to be the most beautiful apartment building in Moscow.it is beloved by Moscow citizens and guests.
