The summer house of Stalin is certainly one of Sochi’s major highlights. Located in a 10-minute drive from the center of Sochi, the house was Stalin’s favorite summer residence (and there was a total 18 of them).
‘The Father of Nations’ made all precautions to keep the house safe from potential attacks. This accounts for the green color of the exterior which made the building less visible from the air.
As you enter the house, the first thing you note is total absence of any luxury. You will not find any fancy furniture or paintings here — everything is pretty spartan — just the way Stalin liked it.
Many visitors flinch at the sight of the leader’s wax figure in his armchair — it looks so natural! No wonder there are a lot of stories going about Stalin’s ghost walking along the corridors at night!
